Edinburgh Animal Trail is an experiential, multi-layered self-guided tour & keepsake designed for families who want to explore the city's heritage in a calmer, more curious way.
The trail invites you to discover animals hidden in plain sight across Edinburgh: carved in stone, cast in metal or quietly watching from walls and corners.
There’s no set order, time or queues and there's no need to see everything at once. You can start anywhere, take your time and follow curiosity instead of crowds.
Each trail also includes access to a private online page where you can listen to short audio stories for every animal. These are reached via a QR code on the map and are designed to be used alongside the walk, or revisited later at home.
